Somewhere in the world today a man will ask a woman to marry him. Its not big news, just a statement of fact. We caught up with two women in attendance at the Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show who were proposed to within the last twelve months to get their perspective on the event.
Our first bride is originally from New York, but now considers herself a sweet Georgia Peach. This was her first bridal event and she and her attendants (all wearing matching red t-shirts) decided to make it into a Girls Day Out. She and her beau have opted for a destination wedding to the

Bahamas in June 2014. Their wedding will be an intimate occasion with only 50 family and friends. What a wonderful way to celebrate the upcoming nuptials with a day out with your closest friends!
Bride in Red |
Our second bride is a native of South Carolina who is planning a March 2014 wedding. This was her fourth bridal event, and she and her friend were in search of ideas and inspiration. I asked this beautiful bride what has been her biggest challenges in planning her wedding. She answered, "finding everything I need in one place." Her process has been exciting but frustrating because she has done a lot of online shopping, but many sites are vague and response times are slow after she has made an inquiry. Despite the minor setbacks, this bride is still moving forward with creative determination and a vision to make her wedding day a dream come true.
A current trend among wedding vendors is collaboration/partnerships with other vendors. Our bride remarked earlier of finding a "One Stop Shop" for all her bridal needs: Catering, Décor, Invitation, Linens & Rentals, Planning. I got an opportunity to speak with a few of the vendors at the event who have caught on to this trend...
Bridget Baker of An Elegant Occasion partnered with five other vendors to create this lovely table setting, and gave brides an opportunity to taste a scrumptious sampling of popular menu items they offer.
Kathy Grate of Divine Occasions is a Event Planner/Coordinator extraordinaire! Kathy believes in quality vs quantity, booking only one wedding per weekend to ensure brides receive her undivided attention. Her expertise and eye for details along with her network of Photographers, Designers, DJ's, and Florists will guarantee your event will be everything you dreamed for, wished, or imagined.
In addition to finding ideas and inspiration for their wedding day, brides were given an opportunity to sign-up for another event supporting Breast Cancer. Rachel Cooper, a volunteer from Brides Against Breast Cancer was there to give more information on the Charity Wedding Gown Sale, which allows brides to view and purchase new and gently worn designer and couture gowns at an affordable price. This two day event to be held October 12-13, 2013, will not only help brides find beautiful gowns, but advance the work of Brides Against Breast Cancer.
