Whip Appeal

Its Monday and I am in an giddy mood! After completing a few tasks which I normally dread I am feeling light-hearted and a little silly. For some unknown reason the song "Whip Appeal" by Babyface popped in my mind and I began to hum the lyrics and rock back and forth at my desk. Ahhh, love is in the air!
Most couples will agree that the "one" who caught their eye had a certain je ne sais quoi they knew they had to have forever. So whether you are a man or woman who has that certain whip appeal that drives your beloved wild, celebrate it, cherish it, honor it, replenish it and recreate it, but most importantly, hold on to it forever!

“Love is a decision, it is a judgment, it is a promise. If love were only a feeling, there would be no basis for the promise to love each other forever. A feeling comes and it may go. How can I judge that it will stay forever, when my act does not involve judgment and decision.”

Brides Against Breast Cancer Charity Wedding Gown Event

The month of October has become synonymous with Breast Cancer Awareness, as women and across the world join together to increase awareness, give support and raise funds to find a cure for this disease.

Each year Brides Against Breast Cancer contributes $2 million dollars to help people impacted by breast cancer. The "National Tour of Gowns" bridal shows are held around the county and sells all brands of new designer and “gently worn” wedding gowns in all shapes and styles.

The Brides Against Breast Cancer (BABC) Charity Wedding Gown Sale was held this past weekend at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest at Galleria. Show manager Katie Posivak and her team of professionals were warm and welcoming to the brides who attended the two-day event.

As the brides entered the ballroom they were immediately welcomed by warm smiles from the BABC volunteers and a host of wedding vendors from the Metro Atlanta area. Jennelle Evans, catering sales manager of the Marriott was not only friendly but very knowledgeable and helpful as she gave my assistant and I a quick tour of the hotel. Its no wonder the BABC has chosen this venue for two years to host this event.

Here are some of the lovely gowns and brides...

In addition to the gorgeous gowns, brides had an opportunity to meet some terrific wedding vendors who also support the Brides Against Breast Cancer organization.

Brides Against Breast Cancer provides free education, information and outreach to thousands of women and families that have been impacted by breast cancer. Over 30 brides found their dream dress over the weekend. What a great way for brides to make their dreams come true and give to a worthy cause! If you know a bride who is still looking for their wedding dress, be sure to tell them about the National Tour of Gowns. The tour is scheduled to make multiple appearances all across the county, so check out the BABC website for a city near you!

A Black & White Affair

I often look to nature for inspiration. Various hues found in blue, yellow and red give us a wide spectrum of colors with which to work. When I look at the animal kingdom I am always drawn to pandas (so cute and fuzzy) and zebras (are you black with white stripes or white with black stripes?) because of their monochromatic design. The classic black and white combination can be interpreted through stripes, polka dots, swirls or blocks. However you translate this classic combo, have fun and rock your black and white style with confidence!
