Georgia is the nation’s leading pecan producing state. In Georgia, pecans are harvested during October through December, but are available year-round. From salted to roasted, to chocolate covered, they have something that will satisfy every palette. Having been in the business of growing pecans for more than 130 years, you could say that the Pearson family knows a thing or two about how to grow them right. Pearson Farm pecans, all grown on the farm in Fort Valley, Georgia come with a promise of quality.
For the Holiday's why not start your own family tradition just like the Pearson's did 130 years ago by making sweet or savory pecan treats as family favorites or gifts for your neighbors, co-workers, favorite teacher or church group. We guarantee they will look forward to your homemade treats every year.
Here are a few recipes that make for
great gifts:
Ingredients:
1 cup butter
4 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups flour
2 cups chopped Georgia
pecans from Pearson Farm
Powdered sugar
Directions:
Cream butter and
sugar. Add vanilla, then flour and pecans. Mix well. Roll into small balls.
Bake 30 - 40 minutes on cookie sheet at 300 degrees. Roll in powdered sugar.
Ingredients:
1.
Graham crackers to
cover cookie sheet
2.
1 cup chopped Georgia pecans
from Pearson Farm
3.
1 cup butter or
margarine
4.
1 cup brown sugar
Directions:
Line cookie sheet
which has sides with foil. Place on it a layer of Graham Crackers that have
been broken in sections. Bring to boil butter and brown sugar. Cook just to
dissolve sugar, about 2 minutes. Pour this mixture over Graham Crackers and
sprinkle nuts onto the crackers after you have poured the sugar and butter
mixture on the crackers; bake in a 400 degree oven for 5 minutes. Just slightly
cool and cut into strips, and then allow to finish cooling.
